TweetDeck: Understanding The Basics

For all your Twitter needs, TweetDeck is a tool which brings real-time tracking, organising, and engagement to one place.

Offering a more convienient Twitter experience by letitng you view multiple timelines in one easy interface.

Being able to present a various of advanced features, and being perfect to be able to look against multiple twiter acounts, scheduling media content, improve your organisation within your marketing and keeping tabs and up to date on the latest trends and tips to improve!

When you join TweetDeck, you’ll be presented with a range of features which you’re able to utilise to gain an even better perspective on what you’re able to do to improve.

  • Manage Multiple Accounts

Through TweetDeck, you’ll be able to manage multiple accounts all at the same time. Presenting you with even more time and the ability to be organised, you can push multiple tweets in multiple accounts.

As you’re able to manage multiple accounts, especially if you work in a business which has multiple accounts or clients which means you need to manage all the accounts.

In the midst of this, not only can you see the trends for each account you manage, you can also save lots of time through logging in and out of each account.

  • Reordering Columns

For the organisational aspect of your management on TweetDeck, there are different elements within the tool which can be reorganised and added to ensure that you have all your important information exactly where you want it.

Introducing the list of icons which are listed on the left navigation bar, some of these include Home, Activity, Notifications, and Mentions — these represent your TweetDeck column order.

Being able to move these items based on your priority and update these items will enable your desired placement. All you need to do is click an icon, drag it to your placement to be able to change the order.

  • Collections

In addition of wanting to organise Tweet according to a range of elements. Through topics, events, interests, conversations and so much more, you can organise these tweets into collections.

If you’re wanting to add these collections through TweetDeck, you are able to add your collection to a column within the tool, and you have the option to be able to Tweet the URL to share it with other people.

Create a Collection

When you’re creating a new column (keyboard shortcut ‘A’), you are able to add a new column to your dashboard. From the menu options, select collections to have a new creation.

To be able to create a new timeline, you are able to create a collection. When clicking on the account drop-down menu, you ca choose the account you want to add the collection to.

Through the collection, you can also edit the different elements from the title and description to add to.

Being the final instruction within the creation, save these options and add these pieces to your TweetDeck.

Add or Remove Tweets from Your Collection

Expressing an element of creativity and interest is an option to add and remove tweets within the realms of your collection.

To be able to add a tweet to your collection, find a tweet of which you would like to add to your colelction and select the more icon. From the drop-down menu, choose ‘Add to Collection’.

Whilst in TweetDeck, you also have the option to be able to utilize the drag option into the collection directly. Once you’ve decided that you’re complete, all you need to do is click the checkbox next to the collection then click ‘Done’.

However, on the other hand, if you would like to remove a tweet from a collection, it is as simple as being able as clicking the ‘x’ icon on a tweet which is presented within a collection!

Share Your Collection

If you choose that you want other people to be able to see your collections on Twitter, this is where you’re able to do so.

To be able to do this, click the filter icon at the top of your collection to access the column’s options menu.

Click the share icon, then choose between embed collection, view on twitter.com or Tweet about this collection.

  • Schedule Tweets

Arguably, being the main function of TweetDeck, this is to be able to tweet ahead of time and advanced within your schedule. If you are able to manage multiple accounts through TweetDeck, you can schedule earlier.

To be able to schedule a Tweet, all you need to do is sign into your TweetDeck account and start to Tweet.

Once you’ve confirmed which account you would like to Tweet from, you are able to choose this here.

The next step is through being able to compose your tweet. Include media, copy and the other elements into your tweet which you think are important to be able to maximise what you want to see.

Click Schedule Tweet, from here you are able to select the date and time which you would like the Tweet to go live, this is when the tweet will be posted live.
